Happy 18 months Henry!!!

I started this blog on Friday, however our weekend took a turn for the worse come Saturday night. Henry developed a cough at night and it just progressively got worse throughout the weekend. He wouldn't eat or drink and he just laid around - totally not himself. He had a low fever Monday night, no fever Tuesday and then a fever this morning with a few tugs on his ear. I called the doctor as soon as they opened up and we were able to get in right away. I just knew it - Henry has his first 'nasty' double ear infection :( I feel so badly for the little man so we're getting lots of cuddles in today!
Ok back to our 18 month statistics...

I can't even believe it - our baby is 18 months old...1 1/2 years old!! It seems so crazy to me.

So what has Henry been up to?

He's talking up a storm! I can make our a lot of the words, but he still does a good bit of gibbergabber. I keep telling him that someday we'll speak the same language!! He does some 2-3 work phrases, the doctor was quite impressed yesterday with his language skills - Yay Henry!!

Activities - Running!! We've been so blessed with such a mild winter and we've been taking advantage of it!! For example: It's February 22 and 60 degrees outside!!! He continues to help me clean up anything and he just loves to help us out with anything and everything we're doing!! He'll just follow us and say 'help'?

We are also practicing our colors everyday and numbers too!! He can count to 3...a little mumbled but he tries so hard!

Sleep - We are down to one nap following our lunchtime and it's working out great. He typically goes down at 1 and sleeps 1 1/2-2ish hours.

Lately with him being sick he's been crashing at 6 pm and sleeping until 6 or 7 am, but normally we go to bed around 7 and he's up around 6am.

He still loves to eat - minus the past few days. Favorites are still grilled cheese, carrots, strawberries, avocado, blueberries, tofu, turkey meatballs, pasta...the list goes on!

He still has his 12 teeth; 4 front on top and bottom and 1st set of molars. His canine or eye teeth are all coming in, his poor gums are bright red and swollen. The pediatrician said they can be vicious coming in!

We're still working on the using the 'potty' but going right beside it is as far as we gotten!! It will come along...

All around favorites - he LOVES to use daddy's shredder. We actually leave a pile beside it just for him (don't worry it has a blade guard and we're always with him when he uses it)! He also loves puzzles and is quite good at them. This week I got him 6 new books and he was in heaven - we do LOTS of reading. New favorite word: No and he must have picked it up at school!

Speaking of school: He did great with his first week. We didn't go Tuesday since he was sick and we'll play it by ear if he goes tomorrow.

18 month stats:

Weight: 23 lbs 12.3 oz

Height: 31 3/4 inches

Such a big boy!

We still wear some 12-18 month clothes but for example his gap 12-18 month jeans are too short on him now :( Can't believe how much he has been growing!

Look at this face...

Two blogs in one day...why not?!?!

Oh what a day it's been!! Everything was going as planned: we got up around 7ish and the cleaners arrived around 8am. We played ALL morning; sang, read, rolled over until I was dizzy, Henry took his nap, I packed for the week (I was going home to Camp Hill so that I could take my mom to her appointment Thursday), the cleaners left around 2ish. I had all bags by the back door ready to put them in the car (it still amazes me how much stuff you have to bring with you even if it's only for 2 days!!!), I walked into the garage and saw what looked to me like a waterfall!! One of the bathroom pipes must have broken and it was coming out of the ceiling at a serious rate!! I immediately called Henry, he told me to "put the phone down and go out and take the ladder downstairs so you can shut off all the valves, I say put the phone down because the ladder is very heavy!" He wasn't kidding, that ladder weighs more than me I swear...it took all my strength to get it in from the garage and down the stairs...but I did it. A little side note: the baby was crying during this whole ordeal which only made it more stressful! He had one of his co-workers who lives a mile away come over to help me and as it stands now, we still have the water shut off! Henry decided to leave his meeting early and fly home from Virginia tonight...not gonna lie...selfishly happy that he is coming home early!!! Plan is to have the plumber come out tomorrow to fix everything...we are just lucky that it was the bathroom above the garage and not the one above the kitchen!!!

So since I had an unplanned day here at home, why not snap some photos!!!

Mommy caught me peaking!!

I mean, how bad of a day can I really have with this lil guy around!!!
