1 month old already!

On Saturday - Thomas Ryan was 1 month old. I can't even believe it. In some ways it seems like it was yesterday, and in others I feel like we have a pretty good routine going and he's been here for a while. He's changing by the minute and looking more and more like Henry.

Here is a comparison - you decide!

4 weeks

Thomas wasn't having it (since it was feeding time) last night when I decided it was time for our weekly photo - but I couldn't help but keep it! We have our 1 month appointment on Monday - anxious to see what his numbers are!

Happy 18 months Henry!!!

I started this blog on Friday, however our weekend took a turn for the worse come Saturday night. Henry developed a cough at night and it just progressively got worse throughout the weekend. He wouldn't eat or drink and he just laid around - totally not himself. He had a low fever Monday night, no fever Tuesday and then a fever this morning with a few tugs on his ear. I called the doctor as soon as they opened up and we were able to get in right away. I just knew it - Henry has his first 'nasty' double ear infection :( I feel so badly for the little man so we're getting lots of cuddles in today!
Ok back to our 18 month statistics...

I can't even believe it - our baby is 18 months old...1 1/2 years old!! It seems so crazy to me.

So what has Henry been up to?

He's talking up a storm! I can make our a lot of the words, but he still does a good bit of gibbergabber. I keep telling him that someday we'll speak the same language!! He does some 2-3 work phrases, the doctor was quite impressed yesterday with his language skills - Yay Henry!!

Activities - Running!! We've been so blessed with such a mild winter and we've been taking advantage of it!! For example: It's February 22 and 60 degrees outside!!! He continues to help me clean up anything and he just loves to help us out with anything and everything we're doing!! He'll just follow us and say 'help'?

We are also practicing our colors everyday and numbers too!! He can count to 3...a little mumbled but he tries so hard!

Sleep - We are down to one nap following our lunchtime and it's working out great. He typically goes down at 1 and sleeps 1 1/2-2ish hours.

Lately with him being sick he's been crashing at 6 pm and sleeping until 6 or 7 am, but normally we go to bed around 7 and he's up around 6am.

He still loves to eat - minus the past few days. Favorites are still grilled cheese, carrots, strawberries, avocado, blueberries, tofu, turkey meatballs, pasta...the list goes on!

He still has his 12 teeth; 4 front on top and bottom and 1st set of molars. His canine or eye teeth are all coming in, his poor gums are bright red and swollen. The pediatrician said they can be vicious coming in!

We're still working on the using the 'potty' but going right beside it is as far as we gotten!! It will come along...

All around favorites - he LOVES to use daddy's shredder. We actually leave a pile beside it just for him (don't worry it has a blade guard and we're always with him when he uses it)! He also loves puzzles and is quite good at them. This week I got him 6 new books and he was in heaven - we do LOTS of reading. New favorite word: No and he must have picked it up at school!

Speaking of school: He did great with his first week. We didn't go Tuesday since he was sick and we'll play it by ear if he goes tomorrow.

18 month stats:

Weight: 23 lbs 12.3 oz

Height: 31 3/4 inches

Such a big boy!

We still wear some 12-18 month clothes but for example his gap 12-18 month jeans are too short on him now :( Can't believe how much he has been growing!

Look at this face...

Dueling baths, group naps and a recap

Today is my first day without 'help' here. Henry left this morning en route to Florida for meetings until Thursday. Prior to the week I had my mom here for a week and a half and then last week Henry's mom came down Mon-Thurs to help out while Henry was out of town.

Today also marks the first day of school for the (bigger) lil guy!! I dropped him off at 8:30 this morning and he fit right in. He's only doing two half days each week, but I truly think he needs it. He will be there Tues and Thurs from 8ish-12:30pm. I'll update when I see how he did!

I've been so far behind with blogging. I have such good intentions, but these boys are keeping me busy. So here's a recap of our life since Thomas was born.

Henry loving my mom here - he had such a great time with her and followed her everywhere she went!

My mom found one of my beach cover-ups and decided to let Henry wear it - all daddy said is that he get's it, we better have a girl at some point :)

The runaway during our change of clothes. He loves to be naked!

Dueling baths. Definitely needed four hands for this adventure but Henry was such a good "helper!"

(Don't mind the immodesty!)

The new lil guy - darn photo went sideways

Such a big boy!

A VERY busy boy

Snow day - kinda (only 2 inches)

Henry decided he didn't need his gloves - such a boy!

After playing in the snow with daddy, Henry came in for lunch and I was on the couch in the living room feeding Thomas, I asked daddy how Henry was doing and he was fast asleep - first time ever doing this! He was tuckered out so we all decided to take a nap while he slept!

Brotherly Love

Thomas 1 week old

We had a doctor's appointment today and this lil guy is doing great. His current weight is 6 lbs 14 oz and he's now 19 3/4 inches long. It was probably quite hard to get an exact length after birth, just because he was so scrunched up!!
He really is such a good baby - feeding every 3 hours at night and every 2-2 1/2 hours during the day. He's such a snuggle bunny too.
Little Henry is getting use to him being here, we're still working on the fact that he has to be gentle around him. He's constantly trying to share his trucks with his little brother and help out with anything I'm doing. My mom has been a huge help this week and Henry is getting spoiled!
